labubu dubai chocolate: a coffee chat on trends (slightly extracted from a conversation with my dad)

 Trends are trends. They trend for a reason, and they are popular because they are trendy. It is a perpetual motion of exponential popularity, and it almost seems never-ending. The phrase "You can't miss a day on the internet" speaks about the problem of quick trends beginning and ending within the same week, hence the fact that you "can't miss a day". However, with Labubus, a blind box toy phenomenon, it seems that even with the backlash being received, they're only getting more popular. "Do you hate Labubu's because you hate them or because people are telling you to hate them?", my dad asked me whilst out getting dinner. "I hate them because they're a useless trend, but I can't say there's no influence from other people to also hate them," I replied. "I guess it's kind of a trend to dislike them as much as it is to own one...!" I added. As I sat on this question for a little longer, and realized that trends are... well, trendy! Who am I to dislike someone or something because it's popular? I am no different. It is supposed to be easy to like a trend (that's exactly why it is a trend), and it is equally as easy to dislike a trend. The macroeconomic environment America is in will inevitably have a specific item on a pedestal, and would you rather it be the newest iPhone or a Labubu... okay bye now!!!1!
